Annual Federal Foster Grandparent Program

o Ratifying the submission

o To the Corporation for National and Community Services

o For the period 1/1/05 – 12/31/05

o To support volunteer opportunities for 64 adults (age 60 and older) with limited incomes to work one-on-one with children with special needs at 33 community sites

o Volunteers serve 20 hours/week

o In addition to community involvement and recognition, volunteers receive a small stipend, transportation, one mea/day, uniforms, training, and an annual physical exam

o For a total program of $457,325
-Federal: $298,402
-State: $ 11,786
-Match: $ 66,296
-CSBG subsidy: $ 80,841
-Inkind: $ 17,820

Approving Ballot Language to Enhance Public Safety by funding Jail Improvements, Expansion, Court Related Activities & Diversion Program   Administrator's Draft Recommendations

o Approving ballot language for millage increase for 0.75 of one mill for 20 years

o To enhance public safety by funding a number of construction projects and operational programs designed to eliminate the County’s persistent jail overcrowding problem and provide increased alternatives to incarceration

o For the February 2005 election
