o         Authorizing the signature of the County Administrator on the Employment services plan application

o         To the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth

o         For the period of July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005

o         To meet the needs of employers and job seekers in the County

o         For a program amount of $515,786
-Federal revenue:     $515,786

o        Upon receipt of the award:
-Authorize the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award
-Amending the budget

b. Annual State Foster Grandparent Program

o         To the Office of Services to the Aging

o         To provide volunteer opportunities for older adults to work one-on-one with children with special needs

o         State funding helps to support the Federal Foster Grandparents program

o         In the amount of $22,170:

-CSBG Support $ 2,994
-Match:                  $1,243 (In-kind contributions)
                              $ 6,147 (County budgeted match)

o         To provide reemployment assistance to 25 individuals who have lost their job due to an increase in imports

o         For a program amount of $64,900:

-Authorize the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award

d. 2004 Annual Workforce Investment Act Program (Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth)

o         To the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth

o         For the period of July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005

o         To provide employment services to Washtenaw County residents through three distinct programs to each of the following populations: Adults, Dislocated Workers, and Youth

o         For a total program in the amount of $1,440,217:

o    Adults                                      $323,626

o    Dislocated Workers              $385,827

o    Youth                                      $730,764

o        Upon receipt of the award:
-Authorize the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award
-Amending the budget

e. 2004 Workforce Investment Act Capacity Building & Professional Development Program

o         To increase proficiency in meeting WIA program measures; assist in meeting local program goals; and provide for ongoing system development

o         In the amount of $24,000:
-State revenue:    $24,000

-Authorize the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award

o         To provide meals to low-income youth

o         Dexter Community Schools will deliver meals to 26 community sites

o         For a total program amount of $135,900:
-Federal Revenue: $ 98,000
-Match: $ 37,900 (CSBG Budgeted)
-Indirect Costs: 0

o        Upon receipt of the award:
-Authorize the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award
-Amending the budget

Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Assistance Project

 

 

 

 

 

o    Authorizing the signature of the County Administrator on a contract

o    With Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley

o    For the period of July 15, 2004 to December 31, 2005

o    To provide homeownership assistance to five low-income homebuyers for 3422 and 3432 Ferry Street , Ann Arbor

o    In the amount of $30,000

o          To provide 65% of cost associated with conducting on-site, comprehensive personal property audits within Washtenaw County to assure accuracy in tax records

o          In the Amount of $175,000:
-State Revenue: $113,750
-Match:            $61,250 (County budgeted)
