Annual Workforce Investment Act Incentive Grant

 

 

 

 

 

o         Ratifying the signature of the Chair of the Board on the application

o         To Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth

o         For the period July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004

o         WIA provides the framework for a system designed to meet both the needs of businesses and the needs of job seekers as well as those who want to further their careers

o         Washtenaw County is receiving an allocation based on performance of 2002 program level and workforce investment activities

o         Funding will be used to increase the business services at the One-Stop Employment Center

o         In the amount of $19,695

o         Revenue $19,695

o         Match: 0

o         Indirect Costs: 0

o         Upon receipt of the award:

o         Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award

o         Amending the budget

o         Authorizing the County Administrator to sign delegate contracts

Washtenaw Housing Education Partners (WHEP) Affordable Housing Project

 

 

 

 

 

o         Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Agreement

o         With Power, Inc.

o         To provide mortgage education, one-on-one counseling, and credit checks for first-time, lower-income homebuyers

o         It will serve 100 lower-income (based on a family of three, those with an annual household income between $34,950 and $51,750) clients

o         Power, Inc. is applicant on behalf of the Washtenaw Housing Education Partnership (WHEP), a partnership with MSU extension, Power, Inc, and Community Housing Alternatives

o         For a total project of $51,850

o         County $24,600

o         Ann Arbor City $ 8,000

o         MSHDA $19,250

o         For the period May 2, 2004 through January 1, 2006

o         The State will purchase Optical Scan Voting Tabulators and Election Management Systems for local units of government in Washenaw County

o         The County to enter into a purchase agreement with vendor chosen by State

o         Upon receipt of the award:

o         Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award

o         Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts

Tentative Enhanced 911 Plan Amendment/800 Mhz Business Plan

 

 

 

 

 

o         Adoption of revisions to tentative Washenaw County Enhanced 9-1-1 Plan

o         Proposed by the 800 Mhz Consortium Board

o         Plan will raise surcharge on phone lines from $0.80 to $4.00, contingent on voter approval

o         Needed to upgrade communications equipment used by emergency personnel to facilitate delivery of services in an emergency.

o         Setting a Public Hearing for August 19, 2004 to receive public comment

2. Trial Court - Community Corrections

 

 

 

 

 

Drunk Driver Jail Reduction&Community Treatment Program

 

 

 

 

 

o         Ratifying the signature of the Administrator on the application

o         To the Michigan Department of Corrections

o         For the period 4/1/04 9/30/04

o         To provide treatment options to reduce drunk driving and drunk driving-related deaths and divert jail sentences or to reduce the length of jail sentences for felony drunk drives who otherwise would be sentenced to jail

o         Eligible participants will have been convicted of an OUIL 3 rd level offense, be an intermediate cell offender and are alcohol dependent or abusing

o         For a total program of $29,700

o         Revenue: $29.700

o         Match: 0

o         Indirect Costs: 0

o         Upon receipt of the award:

o         Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award

o         Amending the budget

o         Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts
