Employment Training and Community Services

WIA Youth Plan Modification

Ø               Ratifying the Chair of the Board’s signature on the plan modification

Ø               To the Michigan Department of Career Development

Ø               For the period 7/1/01 – 6/30/02

Ø               To accept final carry-in funding to provide long-term employability of youth through services such as postsecondary educational opportunities, educational opportunities, linking academic and occupational learning, unsubsidized employment opportunities, summer employment etc.

Ø               Increasing the number served from 75 to 121 (additional 46)

Ø               For a total modification of $153,168  (Total program $348,877)

-Federal Revenue:            $153,168

-Match:                                          0

-Indirect Costs:  0

Ø               Upon receipt of the award:

-Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award

-Amending the budget

-Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts

Planning

Community Housing Alternatives Housing Affordability Agreement

Ø               Authorizing the Administrator to sign the affordability agreement

Ø               With Community Housing Alternatives

Ø               To acquire and rehabilitate 100 and 102 N. Glendale in Ann Arbor to provide rental units for persons with disabilities that wish to move into a home independent of their families or a traditional group home setting

Ø               For a total project of $210,000

-Washtenaw County $  20,000 (recoverable grant)

-Ann Arbor City:        $150,000

-MSHDA:                   $ 40,000

RECOMMENDATION:  Approval

Sheriff

Annual Bullet Proof Vest Reimbursement

Ø               Authorizing the submission of the application

Ø               To the Bureau of Justice Assistance

Ø               For the period 1/1/02 – 12/31/02

Ø               To provide up to 50% reimbursement of the costs of 24 bullet proof vests purchased

Ø               For a total amount of $15,840

-Federal revenue:       $ 7.920

-Match:                       $ 7,920 (budgeted)

-Indirect Costs:  0

Ø               Upon receipt of the award:

-Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award

-Amending the budget

Board of Commissioners

Road Commission Bond Notes

Ø               Authorizing the Road Commission to issue notes

Ø               To sell $3,000,000 in Michigan Transportation Fund Notes

Ø               For road improvements to Ypsilanti Township

Ø               Does not pledge County’s full faith and credit nor create any county liability

Ø               To be paid for by Ypsilanti Township
