Federal Stimulus Money in Washtenaw County
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is an unprecedented effort to jumpstart our economy, save and create millions of jobs, and put a down payment on addressing long-neglected challenges so our country can thrive in the 21st century.
Washtenaw County will continue to pursue opportunities to use this funding source to improve the community. Below is a list of projects funded through the ARRA and administered by Washtenaw County:

| Neighborhood Stabilization Program |
The purpose of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is to acquire and redevelop foreclosed and abandoned properties that are having a negative impact on the community. NSP provides grants and loans to acquire and rehabilitate owner and rental housing; demolish blighted properties, and acquire properties through a Land Bank for redevelopment. |

| Neighborhood Stabilization Program II | Washtenaw County and the City of Ann Arbor Office of Community Development has applied for funding from the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development's second round of Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds (NSP 2). NSP 2 funds can be used to acquire and rehabilitate abandoned and foreclosed residential properties, demolish blighted properties, and redevelop vacant properties as housing.
