Drain Information Now Available Via Online Mapping

Ever wonder if you were close to a County Drain? What Drainage District you were in? or When your Drainage District was created?
Well, now you can find out...

The Washtenaw County GIS program and Drain Commissioner's Office has added the County Drains, Drainage District and Drain right-of way layers to the CVTGIS online mapping website!

Drains layers can be turned on and off in the map view and queried using the Identify Tool. Just Click a location on the map using the Identify Tool and you can view the drainage district information for that location or see which county drain you are near. (The Drains appear as Dark Blue lines and Rights-of-Way are Orange when they are checked as "visible").

The County Drain layer is a work in progress as our interns and drain staff have been working hard this year to collect GPS information about each county drain and input it into the database. Watch the cvtgis website for updates on the collection progress and additional online mapping updates.
